Agent & Broker Applications

Insurance agents or brokers currently licensed in a Canadian jurisdiction and applying for a non-resident licence in another Canadian jurisdiction (except the Yukon) can utilize the application forms that have been jointly developed by the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) and the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO).

Each package consists of:
  • Application Form,
  • Instructions that provide direction on how to complete the application, and
  • Appendix A providing jurisdiction specific requirements along with which documents must be submitted with the application.

Some jurisdictions have also agreed to accept the application forms from residents applying to become licensed in their home jurisdiction. Currently, Ontario, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Prince Edward Island have also agreed to accept the applications from residents.
